Tree of Life

"The Black Dragon Kalas was defeated by the six heroes, and peace has returned to us,"
The bards all sing only songs and poem about this ending; but stories of the six heroes are slipped into oblivion, Terramai became the bishop, Nerwin became the Elf Queen, Barnac who disappeared into the mysterious desert town, the tragedy of Velskud, and the mystery of Gerraint.
But no bards ever sang about anybody else.

In reality, everyone only saw the fall of the black dragon from afar when they each quote their own story.
The majority of the witnesses are affected by black dragon's blood during his fall; most of them died or forced to never speak of this again.

They have no title of hero, no promised riches, Luis's father is one of them.

His father was one of the first volunteers, but his life is not exactly noble;
Since childhood, he was famous for his strength and has been only ever using a sword since. He usually intimidate people with his strength or clean up some dirty cases as a mercenary.
But eventually he met a gentle small village girl and settled down, working as a sword master and planning to spend rest of his life there.
The sole reason he joined the Black Dragon Raid was to accomplish honors by thrusting his sword into the dragon's heart, so that his family may live a little bit better; this is just a simple father's wish.

But this father who beared the future of his family returns in a miserable state.
He could only moans as his scarred body laying on bed, and Luis's kind mother could only weep beside him.
Luis left his village and try to find a cure, only to realize that:
His father's condition is not uncommon, and the others who escaped such fate, are muted by the royal castle's discreet, nobody dare speak of a word about such event.

Even though he had such high faith on Saint Haven doctors, as he figured that  they should be different than the others, his hope is misplaced.
Doctors and Academic left only shaking their heads, even when he was being referred to High Archer Ithilien, she used calm, but very bright eyes, which are only unique to elves, and looked at Luis:
"We are looking for a solution as well, but there are currently no way of full recovery, it will be great if we can find the cure."
But as Luis searched on, the only, and the best solution possible... is by death...

Most people has already gave up on the cure, but he will not.
The more people telling him it's impossible, the more angry, and obsessive he gets about finding the cure
Everyone in the castle has got wind of this, even the royal family knows about the man finding the cure.
But Royal Authorities warned these men to remain silence, if they utter any words about this, they will be thrown into jail, and prepare to spend the rest of their life there.
Sometimes, people will just make fun on Luis on his stupidity, but they are wary that they might got involved with him.

But suddenly, a man with hair band appears and talked to him, his voice are extremely memorable and easy to the ears.
" I heard you're looking for a cure for the illness caused by the accursed blood,"
Luis though it's just another intimidation or insult from the others, so he ignored him.
" I have a cure to purify that accursed blood."
Luis quickly grabbed the man's clothes,
" Tell me! What it is!?"
"It's too dangerous to talk here, go to Helmart Port at night if you want to know the answer,"

The moon that night is especially blue, it's one of those days where the full moon will happen twice in a month.
Luis tried to look for the man in the Helmart Port, but to no avail, when suddenly, from the crack between building where the moonlight couldn't reach:
"Here."
"Tell me, what is the cure?"
"In Elf's capital, Anu Arendel, there is a mysterious tree. They call it the Tree of Life."

" In ancient times, there is a corrupted aura looms over the world. The Elves at that time could only survive in a pure and uncorrupted environment.
The Ancients, who pity the elves who died, and gift them a jewel with powerful magic.
This jewel has very strong purification power, and it managed to push back the corrupted aura, saving every elves from the vicinity of the jewel."

"Tree of Life is the tree who hosts this jewel. And the tree will bear a flower every few decades.
This flower contains the strong magical power from the jewel, when the flower matures, it will release a brilliant light and a sweet scent that covers the whole city.
The magic from that flower, should be able to cleanse the Black Dragon's blood."

After hearing the location and the danger of Anu Arendel, Luis left.
After much hardship though, he finally managed to enter the Elves' city.
But how does he goes through the multiple magical barriers to reach there, is a mystery which leads him to believe in the existence of the Goddess Altea.

The day when he infiltrated Anu Arendel, it was on a night with blue moon too.
The scenery in the city where the elves sleep is stunning;
Even at the azure moonlight as blue as a blue sea, the city is still vibrant with their own colour brilliantly.
Most shockingly for Luis is the scent, it's a scent he never came upon before,
But in vague memories, he feel like he did smell that somewhere before.

He remembered what the man said, and figured that scent should be the source of the flower he's looking.
So he headed towards the scent, towards to Tree of Life.
As he move closer to the tree, the scent changes;
Sometimes it's like cookies his mother baked for him during his childhood,
Sometimes it's like the sweet and gentle scent of the girl he loved,
Finally, it turned into a scent where it's unable disperse like that of a flower, the scent of that only come from the skin of a young toddler.

More and more elven guards are stationed nearby the closer he got to the tree of life,
And alas, the blessing of the goddess seems to fade on him in this crucial time,
He was found, and soon surrounded by multiple guards.
They speak some language that is alien to him, he cursed silently, and drawn his sword.
He managed to defeat some of them, but eventually he's just overwhelmed.
Arrows flew towards him like there is no end to them, more than a dozen pierced through his body.
It all happened in front of Luis's eyes motion by motion as he fell.
An Elf confirmed his death, starting to recover the arrows from his body.

What a disasterous journey,
Just when he thought everything is over,
His obsession... no, madness should be the more appropriate word here;
He used the last of his strength to pull himself up and move himself slowly,
Elves, maybe out of shock, didn't try to stop him at all.
He used  the last of his strength to stretch his hand out, and reached one of the blossomed flower at the lowest part of the Tree of Life.
Flower of Life was picked easily by him.
Luis, at that instance, thought that he heard a wail with grief coming from somewhere.
This is not coming from the shocked elves behind him.
It was like a wail from a young child echoing in his head.
Luis thought that the wail should come from the flower he picked.
This flower shouldn't be just a part of the tree.
Elves, recovered from their shocked state, pull him down from the Tree of Life,
You can see anger from their eyes,
There are some elves with tears in their eyes or with sorrow maybe.
This is the last moment for Luis, he thought everything ends just like that.
But he laments that the fact that he spent so much effort to obtain the cure and couldn't deliver to his father.

Luis thought he should have died, because he is now laying down in such sweet scents and brilliant light.
He thought it's the world where Altea the Goddess and the gods live.
But he saw cool eyes staring at him from the elves, which in turn reminds him that he's still inside the elves' city.
"Are you awake?" asked coldly from the elf. The Elf looks really masculine.
"... why am I'm still alive?"
"Let me ask you a question, who sent you and told you about the Tree of Life and the Flower of Life?"
Luis figured that the elf let him live just because he wanted to know and find the whistle blower.
"Why do I need to answer that?"
The elf twitched the corner of his eyes, but still answer him calmly and gently:
"Because the flower you picked, would have became my sister."
He explains that how they are just beings who exist in this world at the first place,
Birth from the ripe fruits those blossomed Flowers of Life carries.
Luis told him about the man he met in the Helmart Port.
The Male Elf used language alien to Luis to call his fellow elves.
The elves looked surprised and nod their head, and left the room.
"What now? You're going to kill me?"
The Male Elf shook his head,
"Do you know how you survived?
It's the vitality of what could have been my sister that saved you,
If I kill you now, then what my sister's life has exchanged will be meaningless.
Since you knew too much, you can't leave this city anymore."
Luis told him that he still have a sick father and a weak mother to take care of, so he insist to go back.
But the elf, looked at him completely without pity and replied him,
"That's really unfortunate."
Luis reminiscences that this voice without any remorse but gentle voice is similar to that mysterious man.
He suddenly realized that before he reached Anu Aredel, he only met two people who speaks in that tone.
One, is the Master Archer Ithilien.
Two, is that mysterious man with the headband.
Luis feel like he figured out something vaguely...

"May the power of the Tree of Life be with you... "
"The beautiful Elves' world, Anu Aredel, is coming soon."
