Waking up one day late at night,
While I looked where I used to be,
Where everything was just alright,
Well, it’s just wishful thinking maybe,
Not everything can be as it used to be.
Then I look at what I’ve done and said,
And words how people pointed behind me and said,
Therefore I realized, I got misunderstood and made mistakes,
But they take theirs and run away far and sneer,
Well, it’s just wishful thinking maybe,
Now things can’t be as it used to be.
And so I ran, away from all these troubles,
I didn’t want all those feelings anyway.
Then I kept running, far from all these problems,
You wouldn’t listen nevertheless.
Hence I ran, deep in all of this,
We would have a peace of mind, I know we would.
So let me have this wishful thinking for just this instance,
Lay down your arms; hold your rocks back,
Because things could never be as it used to be.
